FLARO Charged in Cornwall Ontario POLICE BLOTTER 120519 #CPS

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Steven Campbell, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on December 4th, 2019 and charged with breach of undertaking for being within a certain distance of a man known to him, as well as failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on November 29th, the man was within a certain distance of someone he has conditions not to be nearby. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 4th, 2019 he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Matthew Burnside, 27, and Preslie-Anne Walker, 26, both of Cornwall, were arrested on December 4th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. Matthew Burnside was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man and woman attended a Ninth Street business on December 4th and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. They were stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, they were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court in January 2020.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Brian Flaro, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on December 4th, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Tenth Street East and Grand Avenue. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 12th, 2019.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 5th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault, mischief, forcible confinement and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged between September and October, 2019, the man had assaulted his girlfriend and prevented her from leaving the residence. It is further alleged the man damaged a door in the residence during an argument with his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 5th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
