SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Burles, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on January 30th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000, as well as three counts of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 27th, 2020, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 30th, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT TO RESIST ARREST

Cornwall, ON – Karsen Labelle, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on January 30th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000, as well as assault with intent to resist arrest. It is alleged on January 30th, 2020, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and a struggle ensued. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 3rd, 2020.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Johnathon Gauthier, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on January 30th, 2020 and charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for attending the Cornwall Square. It is alleged on January 29th and January 30th, the man attended the Cornwall Square, despite his conditions, and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Paul Deschamps-Giroux, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on January 30th, 2020 and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged the man inappropriately touched a woman he did not know on January 26th, 2020 and police were contacted to investigate. On January 30th, 2020 he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 3rd, 2020.

There were 46 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8:00 am yesterday to 8:00 am today).
