OPP Charge Scarborough Man After South Glengarry School Lockdown

May 6, 2024 – The Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged one individual in relation to a weapons incident at a South Glengarry school.

On May 6, 2024, shortly before 10:30 a.m., officers responded to an individual carrying an edged weapon at the Holy Trinity Catholic School in South Glengarry Township and had threatened multiple persons. A Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) was deployed to gain control of the individual, as a result, the male was arrested and charged.  

There were no injuries to school staff or students.

The 35-years-old male of Scarborough was charged with.

  • 266 Assault, two counts.
  • Assault with A Weapon
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Possession of imitation weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Causing a Disturbance
  • Common Nuisance – cause physical harm

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall at a later date.
