Habs Robbed in Detroit 4-2 – Sens Beat NJ 3-2 – NHL SCORES – December 11, 2010 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – Scoring the first goal of a game is important.  Scoring the winning goal is better.   The Habs struck first, but then were struck by the officiating in their 4-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings in Detroit.

3 straight penalties led to a 5-3 where Detroit finally scored against Carey Price.  Montreal received six calls by the refs compared to one for Detroit which of course led to the final score.

The Habs started their first game without Scott Gomez who is listed as having a lower body injury.  Dustin Boyd was plunked from oblivion and put back into the lineup, but Montreal is suffering from the production that Gomez was supposed to bring to the team, but has been missing whether he’s dressed or not during this first chunk of games.

PK Subban made his return to the line up and was back to his feisty self.   Jeff Halpern was +2 for the night and Travis Moen and Hal Gill show how much they meant to this team and both should be resigned.

Colorado made some long shot betters some good cash tonight as they doubled Atlanta in Thrashers barn 4-2.  Former Hab Ryan O’Bryne is still manning over 20 minutes per game and playing some good solid stay at home D.

Ottawa not only won a game, but ruined Marty Brodeur’s return from injury in their 3-2 win over the Devils.   Alex Kovalev no stranger to controversy complained about being singled out for the Sens woes by fans didn’t score in the win and probably has marked his days with a late season trade expected….hopefully not to Montreal, but then again the way the offense is going for the Habs….
