Habs raked by Leafs 3-1 – Canucks lose on Markus Naslund Night – NHL Scores – December 12, 2010 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – Carey Price had the night off.  It was Alex Auld’s third game of the season and either he needs more work or he’s really not a NHL goalie.

The Habs had to fight back from a 2-0 deficit, but didn’t have the horsepower to get the job done.   To Ault’s credit he did rebound after a shaky start, but that one goal lead in hockey changes a game, and being behind by two doesn’t help.

Scott Gomez wasn’t in the lineup for the second game in a row and it showed.  While the $7M man may not being scoring much this year more attention gets put on Tomas Plekanec and the whole offense bogs down.

Without much help from the bottom six it puts that much more pressure on the top six.   How much longer will Hab fans have to endure a punchless bottom six without help at the top?   Mr. Kostistsyn has had an opportunity to pick up his game and not shown up.  Lars Eller….well….Montreal needs some help at this point and by now its needs should be clear enough to Mr. Gauthier and his staff.

With the Markov cap space open a move should be done sooner rather than later.

23 shots against the Toronto Maple Leafs is a huge indicator that there’s problems that need a fixing!

In other NHL scores from Saturday, San Jose needed OT to defeat Chicago 2-1; as did Minnesota and Tampa Bay as they beat LA 3-2 and Vancouver 5-4 ruining Markus Naslund night.

Markus Naslund had his number retired?   For winning how many Stanley Cups?  Scoring Titles?

Phoenix dimmed the Stars 5-2; Nashville shut out Floriday 3-0; Carolina needed the shoot out to nip Jaroslav Halak and the St. Louis Blues 2-1; Rick Nash’s two goals led Columbus to a 3-1 win over the Rangers; Craig Anderson benefited from Paul Stasny’s 3 point night at Colorado defeated Washington 3-2.

A four goal 3rd period was just the tonic as Atlanta beat the Islanders 5-4; Detroit kept rolling, 4-1 over New Jersey; Philly 2-1 over Boston in OT; and Pittsburgh beat Buffalo 5-2 with Sydney Crosby extending his game point streak.

  1. Excuses, excuses, excuses, why don’t you just say that Montreal got beat by a better team last night……and then burn the stadium down.

By the way, I had to go to another web site to find out the actual score. What’s the matter, your fingers couldn’t type “Toronto Beats Montreal 3-1”?
