Cornwall ON – Russia did something most hockey teams could never do. They came back and beat a Canadian Hockey team for the Gold in the 2011 World Juniors tonight in Buffalo.
I’ve always felt that stats are for losers. Winning it all is what it’s all about and what’s truly Canadian about Hockey. Sadly tonight some of the NHL’s brightest future stars learned a lesson.
Russia showed that being tough sometimes means more than simply finishing your checks and hitting people hard.
It took Russia less than 5 minutes in the 3rd period to score 3 goals and turn the game around. This Russia’s first Gold since 2003. The US team took the bronze after beating Sweden this afternoon.
