Up next is our final entry to be published, Denis Sabourin, who is running for Council.
1. Who are You? Denis Sabourin, a person with 17 plus years experience at working for Liberal Members of Parliament at the House of Commons in Ottawa.
A 15 year Catholic School Board Trustee with the former Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry English Catholic School Board and the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.
A past federal and provincial Liberal candidate in this riding.
A paralegal licensed by the Law Society of upper Canada who operates his own small business advocating for clients before various tribunals and courts.
A former national journalist having covered politics, news and sports in markets such as Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton, Dawson Creek British Columbia and Cornwall. My journalism career included electronic and print media.
A community volunteer who has been involved in a number of worthy causes and service organizations.
2. Why are you running for office? I want to bring “Common Sense Experience” to the council table. I believe that a great deal can be accomplished by the next council that will help move the city forward. Given my past experience at all levels of government I believe I have the skills to perform the job of city councillor in the professional manner expected by the residents of Cornwall.
3. What are the three best things about our community? The people of Cornwall are diverse and very resourceful and for that reason I consider them one of the best features and assets of our community.
This is a city that is affordable with great services and is ideal in which to work, live, play, retire and enjoy a very comfortable and fulfilling career and life.
Cornwall is a city on the cusp. There are many good things to come and happen in this city and now is the time to build on the foundations for continued growth and development.
4. What are your three priorities to improve Cornwall? I would like to see greater open communication from council to the residents of Cornwall. This effort would help the residents understand what the city’s goals and priorities might be over the next four years.
I propose a renewed emphasis on economic development. We should not only be targeting industry interested in locating to a new municipality as part of an expansion, but I feel that we should develop incentives for start-up companies and small businesses that can set up shop in the many vacant store fronts in the downtown core and in Le Village. We cannot rule out the potential of green industry.
A desire to move forward on Cornwall’s waterfront by establishing a vision for the green space we know as Lamoureux Park and developing a business plan to work with other partners in the development of brownfield sites like the old Domtar property, Cotton Mills Weave Sheds and the former Courtaulds sites.
5. Who was your hero as a child? My parents, they established a very successful business, were involved in the community, demonstrated that it is important to give back to the community and encouraged their children to be the best that they can be.
6. If your could brand the Cornwall of the future in one word, what would that be? Opportunity.

I see that Mr. Sabourin has a great deal of qualifications and my only beef is that he is friends with Bare Ass and his misfits. This is too bad that he is part of this misfit gang because otherwise this man is well suited for the job. When you hang around with certain people you become one of them. How many people have mentioned the name Sabourin as one of their clique friends. I have read it a number of times. If Mr. Sabourin were different he would be a very good choice if not an excellent choice for council.

Jamie this is one of the main reasons why Bare Ass behaves the way he does because he feels that he can get away with anything in the community and elsewhere as long as he belongs to these secret societies. Whether K of C, Shriners or Free Masons it is all the same clubs run by the same tier. For a number of years I have been reading up on so much why the world leaders belong to all of this and how they get away with what they do. Read on it and watch on youtube.com.
Jamie I am wondering if Holy Gilles Latour belongs to the K of C and this is important because like all secret societies they have a way of getting away with their crimes with the judge or a reduced sentence. This is so true with the Masons.
