DRUGS SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOP

(South Glengarry) – On February 11, 2016 at approximately 12:00am, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The adult male driver, Johann-Yaacov MARCIANO (36) of Cote Saint Luc, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams

He was released and schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on March 2, 2016.

MARIHUANA GROW OPERATION DISMANTLED

(CHAMPLAIN, ON) – On Sunday February 07th at 3:00am, the Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated an incident on Terry Fox Drive in the village of Vankleek Hill.

OPP Officers secured the area and executed a Search Warrant on the property.

The investigation revealed that the building on Terry Fox Drive was partly used to cultivate (an indoor) and process Marihuana and Cannabis resin.

The Hawkesbury Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), assisted by the East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Identification Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant, resulting in the seizure of cannabis marihuana plants, cannabis marihuana, cannabis resin and Canadian currency.

The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances is over $200,000.00.  A substantial amount of electricity was also stolen from Hydro One.

Police seized offence related property that consisted of marihuana and cannabis resin production equipment and marihuana trafficking equipment.

The owner Jacqueline ROULEAU did not possess a licence with Health Canada to produce marihuana for medical purposes.

Jacqueline ROULEAU (40 yrs) and an occupant of the building, Christine LAROCQUE (50 yrs) were both arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following:

Produce a Schedule II substance – (cannabis marihuana)

Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking – over 3 kg (cannabis marihuana)

Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg (cannabis resin)

Produce a Schedule II substance (cannabis resin)

Both accused were released and scheduled to appear at court on March 16th, 2016 in L’Orignal.
