Snowfall warning in effect for:
- Cornwall – Lancaster
- Maxville – Alexandria
- Morrisburg – Long Sault
- Winchester – Newington
A long period of snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.
Early season significant snowfall expected today into Monday.
Rain has changed to snow with temperatures falling below freezing. This may produce very icy roads in some locales.
Heaviest snowfall accumulations are expected this evening and into the overnight hours with 15 to 20 cm of snow possible by Monday morning. This could result in a significant impact to the Monday morning commute.
Strong northwest winds gusting 50 to 70 km/h will also accompany the snow and will result in reduced visibility in blowing snow.
Periods of snow will taper to scattered flurries by Tuesday morning.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
I have a good chuckle looking at that little dog all bundled up and I am in my housecoat and still feel a bit chilled in my old age. I will stick my little portable heater on as well even though everyone roasts when I have it on. LOL LOL. I should dress up like that cute little dog in the picture. I am making more and more quilts.
