(Prescott ON) On July 8th , at approximately 6PM, the Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling the area of Dishaw Street, in the village of Cardinal, At this location, officer’s observed an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), being driven by a male who was not wearing a helmet.
Officers initiated a traffic stop and after speaking with the driver, it was determined that the driver was driving the ATV, while his ability was impaired by alcohol. The driver was identified as 23 year old Rick DESCHAMPS, of Cardinal.
The accused was charged with:
- Driving while ability impaired by alcohol
- Driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in blood
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 28th, 2017.
Driving while impaired or riding with someone who is impaired is never worth the risk.
