Between September the 18th to the 24th 2017, the Prescott Office of the Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 120 general occurrences. Of these occurrences, 35 were in Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township, 30 in Augusta Township, 50 in the town of Prescott and 31 on highway 401 and 416.
On September the 18th, a Grenville County Officer stopped a motor vehicle for travelling at 146km an hour on the 416 highway, north bound, south of Spencerville. Further investigation revealed that the male driver was suspended from driving for unpaid fines. The 26 year old, from Hamilton, was issued a Provincial Offences Summons to appear in Provincial Offence Court for the charge of speeding and driving while under suspension.
On September the 19th, at approximately 8:30p.m. The Canadian Boarder Agency (CBSA) contacted the Grenville County OPP to report that they had a male in custody for failing the roadside screening device breath demand (ASD). The 48 year old driver was entering Canada at the Johnstown International Bridge. Hugh Boyle of North Grenville is charged with:
- Driving a vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol
- Driving with more that 80mgs of alcohol in blood.
On September the 20th, 2017, while on general patrol, a member of the Grenville County OPP observed a running motor vehicle, parked at an angle on the 401 overpass, at Edward Street in Prescott. Investigation revealed that the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. Christina Nightingale, age 29, of Prescott Ontario is charged with:
- Care and control while impaired by alcohol
- Care and control over 80mgs of alcohol in blood
Both the accused are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice, in Brockville, on October the 6, 2017.
