JANUARY 25, 2024 – Members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered a stolen car on Highway-401.
On January 24, 2024, shortly before 10:30 a.m., SD&G officers located a stolen vehicle on Highway 401, eastbound in the South Stormont Township. A tire deflation device was utilized to safely stop the vehicle and the driver was arrested.
Further investigation revealed that the 2024 black Jeep Cherokee was stolen from the Peel area.
Oliver CHABOT, 44-years-old from Brossard, Quebec was arrested and charged with:
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession Break In Instruments
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order, two counts.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
