Truck Crash on 401 – Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department Called to Action April 11, 2011 UPDATED

Lancaster ON – Artist Michael Cartwright sent in these two photos of a truck wreck on the 401 near Bainsville.  We’re awaiting word from OPP on injuries.

The Lancaster volunteer  fire department were called out and the buzz was that one truck was passing in high winds.

UPDATED at 7:03 PM from the OPP.

SD&G OPP officers are currently at the scene of a single vehicle rollover onHighway 401 east bound near the Bainsville overpass.

Early stages of the investigation have revealed that the male driver of a tractor trailer haulingpaper products went into the median and flipped over. He was extracted from his truck andtransported to Cornwall Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

East bound traffic on Highway 401 is being re-routed at the Lancaster off ramp. SD&G OPP isrequesting local traffic to stay away from the affected area.
