CFN – Over the last year, the Liberal Party of Canada has been inspired by a spirit of renewal.  The challenges presented by last May’s general election have been met by a vigorous party organization that continues to embrace change. Today, the party is focusing on rebuilding by reaching out to Canadians across the country. By listening to Canadians, the party is embracing new ideas and new opportunities for change.

It is this exciting opportunity that brought a group of Young Liberals together at the Knights of Columbus on February 25th to start their own Young Liberals Club in Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry. Reaching out to new people and embracing new ideas will be vital for the Liberal Party’s renewal and these youth are determined to play their part.

It is these Young Liberals that will be instrumental in bringing new ideas and new people into the party. Youth engender the type of thoughtfulness called forth not by the promise of electoral victories, but by the blessing of community and its principles.

Because of this, the Stormont Dundas South Glengarry Young Liberals are proud to present “The Power of Youth,” an evening dedicated to encouraging youth to get involved. Join us on Saturday April 14th from 5pm-7pm at the Knights of Columbus (205 Amelia Street) for this inspiring event, free of charge.

Guest Speakers of the evening include Samuel Lavoie, President of the Young Liberals of Canada, Yasir Naqvi, MPP Ottawa Centre and Mauril Belanger, MP Ottawa-Vanier. The event is open to anyone interested in the new Liberal Party of Canada.
