Man Charged in Cornwall for Taking Mom’s Credit Card & Threats FEB 28, 2017

ASSAULT, THREATS, THEFT

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 23rd, 2017 and charged with assault, threats and theft under $5000. It is alleged during an argument on February 21st, 2017 the man pushed and threatened his girlfriend. It is also alleged on February 23rd, 2017 the man withdrew money from her account without her permission. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT, ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 23rd, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000, assault, mischief and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 23rd, 2017 the man entered a store at the Cornwall Square and removed property making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. It is also alleged the man was involved in another incident earlier in the day where he assaulted his partner and damaged a door. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 25th, 2017 and charged with three counts of theft under $5000, theft of a credit/debit card and threats to life. It is alleged during the month of February, 2017 the man took his mother’s credit card without her permission and withdrew money on three occasions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation it was also alleged the man threatened to kill his mother sometime between August and September, 2016. On February 25th, 2017 the man was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 6th, 2017. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – James Savidge, 27 and Shannon Pollard, 38 both of Cornwall were arrested on February 26th, 2017 on the strength of warrants. It is alleged the two failed to attend court on February 23rd, 2017 for break and enter charges and warrants were issued for their arrest. On February 26th, 2017 the two were located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and released with a court date of March 13th, 2017.

Cornwall, ON – Miranda Cook, 38 of Akwesasne was arrested on February 27th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on February 18th, 2015 the woman operated a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner when she failed to stop at the Port of Entry. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On February 27th, 2017 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the woman was in custody on unrelated charges. The warrant was executed and the woman remained in custody for a bail hearing.

THEFT, BREACH, RESIST ARREST

Cornwall, ON – Gregory Malenfant, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on February 27th, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000, breach of undertaking for attending a local apartment complex and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 26th, 2017 the man attended a local apartment complex despite his conditions and removed property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody after a brief struggle, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 27th, 2017 and charged with breach of recognizance for communicating with his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged the man was found to be in the company of his ex-girlfriend during a traffic stop on February 27th, 2017. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT, PERSONATION, OBSTRUCT, BREACH, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Justin Rainey, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on February 28th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant and charged with personation, obstruct police, breach of recognizance for being out past curfew and for being in possession of a quantity of cocaine. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged in the early morning hours of February 28th, 2017 the man identified himself to police as someone else during a traffic stop. The man was taken into custody on the strength of a warrant and found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and in breach of his conditions. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
