Update

The accused has been located and arrested without incident. Kingston Police would like to thank everyone who shared the original release.

The accused has been transported to police headquarters where he will be held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused is charged with attempt murder, carry concealed weapon and possession of a weapon.

Original Release

On August 16, 2017 at approximately 3:45 a.m. a stabbing occurred in a residence in the 600 block of Division Street. The accused had attended the apartment and asked the victim to cook him a meal.

While the victim was occupied with cooking the accused pulled out a knife from his waist area and suddenly began stabbing the victim. A witness grabbed a frying pan to intervene. The accused fled on foot and his current whereabouts are unknown.

The victim suffered approximately 9 stab wound in the chest and back area. He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he is in critical, but stable condition.
