Police Charge Cornwall Man with Sexually Assaulting Daughter – 050718

SEXUAL ASSAULT, SEXUAL INTERFERENCE, INDECENT EXPOSURE

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 4th, 2018 and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and indecent exposure. It is alleged the man sexually assaulted his daughter in the past and police were contacted to investigate. On May 4th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 5th, 2018. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, THREATS, MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 55-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 4th, 2018 and charged with assault, threats and mischief. He was also charged with three counts of breach of probation for being within 50 meters of his girlfriend, communicating with her and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on May4th, 2018 the man punched his girlfriend, threatened her and damaged property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 5th, 2018 and charged with threats and criminal harassment. It is alleged on May 4th, 2018 the man threatened his girlfriend and repeatedly communicated with her despite having been warned not to. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 6th, 2018 and charged with assault and overcome resistance (choking). It is alleged during an argument on May 6th, 2018 the man punched and choked his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jean Guy Beauvais, 41 of Hammond, ON, was arrested on May 7th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to reside at a specific address and for being in possession of a cell phone. It is alleged the man was found to be in breach of his conditions during a traffic stop on May 7th, 2018. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.



TRESPASS BY NIGHT, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Darin Cooper, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on May 7th, 2018 and charged with trespass by night, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation and undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged in the early morning hours of May 7th, 2018 the man was found to be trespassing in the area of Fifth Street and Marlborough Street by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was taken into custody and found to be possession of stolen property. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – James Labelle, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on May 5th, 2018 on the strength of warrants. It is alleged on May 5th, 2018 police located the man who was wanted on several warrants. He was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 5th, 2018 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged on May 5th, 2018 the man drove past his ex-girlfriend on several occasions despite having been warned by police that his actions would be deemed as harassment. He was located at his residence, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
