SHYLO FLARO Charged in Cornwall for Ontario Works Fraud Over $5000 101118

FRAUD

Shylo Flaro, 32 of Cornwall was arrested and charged with fraud over $5000.00 on the October 10th, 2018. It is alleged that she failed to declare changes in her living arrangements to the Ontario Works Resource Centre between April, 2015 and December, 2015 which resulted in an overpayment of $8358.80. She was released to appear in court on the November 6th, 2018.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Lisa Sauve, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on October 11th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on September 18th, 2018 for a theft under $5000 charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On October 10th, 2018 the woman was spotted walking in the area of Ninth Street and Sydney Street by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.



FAILT TO ATTEND, ASSAULT POLICE

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 10th, 2018 and charged with fail to attend court and assault police. It is alleged the youth failed to attend court on October 10th, 2018 and an investigation ensued. The youth was later located by police, taken into custody at which time he kicked an officer. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, FLIGHT FROM POLICE, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Charles Thomas, 20 of Hogansburg, NY was arrested on October 11th, 2018 and charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and mischief. It is alleged on October 10th, 2018 the man failed to stop for police in the area of Leitch Drive, he then drove in a dangerous manner as he fled from police causing damage to a property on Leitch Drive. He was later stopped by members of the Regional Task Force and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was charged accordingly and held for bail hearing.

There were 50 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in the last 24 hours (8am the previous day to 8am the day of the release).
