“We can’t ignore the problem because it’s in our face here in Cornwall,” said Sgt. Michael Harvey of that city’s RCMP detachment.
Police are starting to see more crooks use “scout” vehicles to watch for cops and slow cruisers down.
“Our vehicles as well have been rammed,” Harvey said.
Harvey noted that investigating contraband violations has become increasingly dangerous.
“It’s not about the cigarettes anymore,” he said.
