The Habs were out shot 47-25 in their 5-1 storming of the Carolina Hurricanes in Carolina last night. The intoxicating mix of having your best player back and competing against a team driving for the #1 pick in the draft has that effect sometimes.
Montreal scored 4 power play goals including two from Glen Metropolit who is the scoring machine for Montreal. Highlights of the night were Scott Gomez getting 3 assists and taking a Unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, and the first game of Benoit Pouliot who took his first 2 shots as a Hab.
Jaroslav Halak picked up the win and keeps upping the ante on his trade value. Montreal does seem like to win for Jaro…and you never know how the winds blow in the NHL and what Bob Gainey is thinking.
