It’s that time of year. Christmas Eve; your wallets are empty, the kids are zipping around, the lights are twinkling, and very familiar tunes are playing in the background.
The weather has cooperated so far here in Cornwall Ontario. As I write this it’s warm and comfy outside.
This should be a very good Christmas indeed and behalf of myself, my family, and everyone at The Cornwall Free News we want to wish everyone peace, joy, health, wealth, understanding, and happiness.
May 2010 be a year of growth for our city and for the people that make it work. And thanks to all who have made this such a joyous holiday season for us here. We all look forward to serving you better in 2010.
And a special thanks to all of our sponsors without whose support we couldn’t make this happen!

I just wanted to check in and congratulate Jamie and the gang at Cornwall Free News on the dramatic new look of the website. It has an excellent layout, is colourful and very user friendly.
I think your newspaper will be a catalyst in ensuring that all media do the job they are supposed to do especially in Cornwall, which is to tell people the truth about what’s happening in the news and to forget about censorship and being politically correct.
As Voltaire said: “I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” As long as everyone believes in that democracy will survive.
Best of luck to all of you in 2010.
