Halak & Habs Lose to NJ 2-1 – Scores n Round Up – January 9, 2010

There were a lot of passengers in the Habs 2-1 loss to New Jersey.

They actually out shot the Devils, but to no avail.  Marty Brodeur notches another win and the team gets to regroup while Bob Gainey gets to make decisions about what it will take to pull this out of the fire and find a way to get into the play-offs.

It seems Scott Gomez has become hot just as Brian Gionta is cooling off and Tomas Plekanec is not looking red hot either.   The team was in need of a top six forward before the Kostitsyn’s went down; now they’re desperate.

It could be worse.  It could be Ottawa where the Sens were shut out by Florida who are not known for their D.

The Leafs fumbled through another loss, and the Canucks took a rare loss to Calgary in the Shoot out.

Boston’s Marc Savard will be out with injury for 3-4 weeks.  Andrei Kostitsyn will also be out for at least the same amount of time.

Rick DiPietro looks to be coming back from Injury for the Islanders which should put another goalie onto the trade market which will put some pressure on Bob Gainey to make any deals.
