Canada Ekes Out 3-2 vs Switzerland – Russia Halak’ed by Slovakia 2-1 – US 6-1 over Norway – Mens 2010 Olympic Hockey Round Up – Christine Nesbitt Grabs Gold for Canada in Ladies 1000 Meter Speed Skating – February 19, 2010

In a huge upset Slovakia beat the star studded Russian National team 2-1.  The Montreal Canadiens on Jaroslav Halak stole a game saving 35 shots in the victory.

Marty Brodeur picked up his first Olympic Win in Canada’s 3-2 shoot out victory over Switzerland.  It was a night of near upsets for the two favorite teams to win gold.   The Canadian squad put the shots on goal, but Jonas Hiller kept kicking them out.

Team USA stomped over Norway 6-1.

Canada also picked up its 3rd gold medal as Christine Nesbitt won the Ladies 1000M Speed Skating.  LINK

    as long as the excited states doesn’t win, I can accept the outcome. But I will say this: canada is in tough; I thought we’d be more impressive last nite than we were. Chemistry has to pick up and the puck movement has to get A LOT better. Thank god the russians are showing some cracks
