Play Off Series Leveled – Habs Lose Barn Burner 6-5, Boston Stabs Sabres 5-3, Kings Crown Canucks 3-2 – Cornwall Ontario – April 18, 2010

Cornwall ON – Montreal fans wake up this morning devastated at losing 6-5 last night in OT t the Washington Capitals who figured out how to finally score against les boys, and Jaroslav Halak in particular.

The Canadiens, a very long longshot stole game one due to heroics which continued into game 2. of the series.    At one point up 4-2 Montreal succumbed to the greatest offense of the season.

It started well with former Hab Goalie Jose Theodore being pulled after giving up two goals on two shots and lasted up until the second period.

It was a Russian evening in Washington though.    AK 46 Andrei Kostitsyn notched a hat trick for Montreal, but it was Alex Ovechkin, held shot less in game one who put up 4 points, hit everything that moved, and led the way.  Simeon Varlamov held on in goal.

Momentum is everything in hockey and it should be interesting to see if the Habs have much left in the tank as they’ve endured over 75 shots on goal in two games in what’s been some of the most entertaining hockey seen in quite awhile.

Scott Gomez even had a fight in the 3rd period.

In other play off matches; Boston leveled their series with Buffalo with a 5-3 win.  Former Hab Michael Ryder picked up two goals.      Los Angeles evened their series with a 3-2 OT Win.
