Does your Dog Have you at the End of the Leash? by Richard Komorowski
Cornwall ON – Any true dog owner loves their dog and treats it well. Equally, every dog in such a happy position loves its owner.
If you own more than one dog, you’ve probably noticed that one dog, typically the oldest male, will assert himself and tend to control the other dogs. For example, he will want to be the first one at the feeding dish, and will try to push aside any other dog who disagrees. He’s not being mean – he’s demonstrating that he is the alpha dog, the pack leader.
If dogs only interacted with dogs, and humans with humans, all would be fine. However, dogs and humans interact with each other, and as neither species always understands the needs of the other, problems sometimes arise.
Brad Pattison is one of Canada’s foremost dog experts, and hosts the TV show “At the End of my Leash”. He will be in Ottawa this Sunday, May 16, to conduct a one-day seminar on how to have a good relationship with your dog. This link http://bradpattison.com/page/seminars-1 will take you to the site, and will give more information about the seminar and how to register.
