Cornwall ON – Here is your police blotter for Cornwall Ontario on Tuesday June 22.

ASSAULT

Michelle Fisher, 21 and a 17 year-old Cornwall female were arrested on the 19th of June, 2010 following an assault.  It is alleged that the two females had an argument with another female at which time the victim was punched, kicked then thrown to the ground.  The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  They were charged with Assault and released to appear in court on the 12th of August and 19th of August, respectively.  The 17 year-olds’ name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

Richard Joseph Ranger, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on the 19th of June, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol.  It is alleged that he was under the influence when police attended his residence on another matter.  He was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking and held in custody until court the next day.

DANGEROUS OPERATION

Raven Peter van Leishout, 59, of, Cornwall was arrested on the 19th of June, 2010 for an incident which occurred on the 14th of June.  It is alleged that on that date, he operated a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner on Second Street West.   Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The investigation resulted in the male being arrested for Dangerous Operation and released to appear in court on the 03rd of August, 2010 to answer to the charge.

BREACH OF PROBATION and DRIVE WHILE DISQUALIFIED

A 27 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 19th of June, 2010 while attempting to enter Canada through the point of entry.  The male was bound by a Probation Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to not associate, contact or hold any communication with a specific female.  On the 28th of May, 2010 it is alleged that he attended the female’s residence and spoke with her.  It is further alleged that on the 19th of June, he was operating a motor vehicle while disqualified from driving.  He was detained by a Canada Border Services Agency member until the arrival of the Cornwall Police.  He was arrested for 3 counts of Breach of Probation and 1 count of Drive while disqualified.  He was released to appear in court on the 29th of July, 2010 to answer to the charges.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

A 40 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 19th of June, 2010 for a domestic related incident.  He was bound by an Undertaking Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that he had an argument with his common-law wife at which time he grabbed her arm.  She did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male being charged with 1 count of Domestic Assault and 1 count of Breach of Undertaking.  He was held in custody until court the following day.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

BREACHES

A 29 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 20th of June, 2010 for failing to abide by his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions to not be away from his residence between specific hours unless working or in the company of his surety and to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol.  On that date, police responded to a complaint and the investigation resulted in the male being charged with 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance for being under the influence of alcohol and for being away from his residence during the specified time period.  He was held in custody until court the following day.  His name is not being released.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE, TRESPASS BY NIGHT, ATTEMPT ARSON, etc.

A 15 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested in the early hours of June 20th, 2010 for several offences relating to separate incidents.  He was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on the 18th of June, he and 2 other young persons attended a worksite on William Street, located keys within a vehicle of a locked compound and drove the vehicle causing damage.  It is further alleged that on the following evening, the youth and an accomplice stole a motor vehicle and after damaging it, later attempted to burn it.  Police were contacted for the both incidents and an investigation commenced.  On June 20th, the youth was located riding his bicycle on private property and detained by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.   A search of the youth uncovered property which had been reported stolen from the motor vehicle.  He was arrested and charged with 1 count of Trespass by Night, 1 count of Possession of Stolen property, 1 count of Breach of Probation, 2 counts of Theft Over $5,000.00, 1 count of Attempt Arson and 1 count of Mischief Under $5,000.00.  He was held in custody until court on the 21st of June, 2010.

A 14 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested and charged with one count of Theft Over $5,000.00 and 1 count of Mischief Under $5,000.00 for his involvement in the theft of a motor vehicle.  He was released to the custody of a parent and is to appear in court at a later date.

A 16 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested and charged with one count of Break and Enter and 1 count of Mischief Under $5,000.00 and 1 count of Breach of Undertaking for Failing to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour for his involvement.   He was held for court the following day.

A 23 year-old Cornwall male was arrested in the early hours of June 20th, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol.  He was further bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that while under the influence of alcohol, he had an argument with his girlfriend and police were contacted.  An investigation resulted in the male being charged with 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking and 1 count of Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court on the 21st of June, 2010.  His name is withheld as it may identify the victim in this incident.

FAIL TO PROVIDE A BREATH SAMPLE

Cody Mitchell, 22, of Snye Quebec was arrested in the early hours of June 20th, 2010 while attempting to enter Cornwall through the point of entry.  It is alleged that he was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when stopped by a member of the Canada Border Services Agency.  He was arrested for Fail to provide a breath sample and detained until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  He was later released to appear in court on the 07th of September, 2010 to answer to the charge.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Marisa Dawn Lupien, 32, of Cornwall was arrested on the 20th of June, 2010 for breaching her condition.  She was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to attend the Cornwall Community Police Service on every Friday to sign in.  It is alleged that on the 18th of June, 2010 she failed to do so.  On the 20th of June, she attended police headquarters and was charged with 1 count of Breach of Recognizance.  She was held in custody until court the following day.

DEATH THREATS and OBSTRUCT JUSTICE

A 20 year-old male from Montreal, Quebec was arrested on the 20th of June, 2010 for uttering a death threat.  It is alleged that he approached a male at a Cornwall licensed establishment and stated that he would kill him if he testified against his family member.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male being charged with Utter death threat and Obstruct Justice.  He was released to appear in court on the 14th of September, 2010 to answer to the charges.  His name is being withheld as it may identify the victim in this incident.

BREACH OF PROBATION

A 54 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 20th of June, 2010 for breaching his condition.  He was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to not contact his ex-wife directly or indirectly.  It is alleged that he attempted to contact her through a third party contrary to his condition.  Police were contacted and the male turned himself into police.  He was arrested for 1 count of Breach of Probation and held in custody until court.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

ASSAULT and BREACH OF PROBATION

Ahshella Huxtable, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on the 20th of June, 2010 for an assault.  She was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that she confronted another female and pushed her causing injury.  The female required medical attention and the police were contacted.  The female was arrested for 1 count of Assault and 1 count of Breach of Probation.  She was released to appear in court on the 20th of July, 2010.

ROBBERY and BREACH OF PROBATION

John Michael Sawatis, 30, of Cornwall was arrested following a robbery which occurred on the 20th of June, 2010.  He was bound by a Probation Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Abstain from the consumption/possession/purchase of drugs.  It is alleged that while under the influence of drugs, he attempted to rob a pizza delivery person of his wallet.   Police were contacted and the male was arrested for Robbery and 2 counts of Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court on the 21st of June, 2010.

THREATS TO CAUSE DEATH

A 23 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 20th of June, 2010 for a domestic related incident.  It is alleged that he threatened to kill his girlfriend and a family member during an argument.  Police were contacted and he was charged with 2 counts of Utter threats to cause death.  He was held in custody until court the following day.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

BREACHES

David Lee Ward, 24, of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of June 21st, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to abide by a curfew, to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  He was further bound by a Probation Order with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  Police allege that while under the influence of alcohol and after curfew he was located walking on Second Street East.  He was arrested for 3 counts of Breach of Undertaking and 1 count of Breach of Probation.   He was released to appear in court on the 20th of July, 2010 to answer to the charges.
