Cornwall ON – Here is your police blotter for Friday July 23, 2010.

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Tara Lianne Coon, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant by the Ottawa Police Service on July 22nd, 2010.  It is alleged that she was scheduled for court on the 29th of June and failed to attend.  As a result, a warrant was issued.   Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended and escorted the female back to Cornwall where she was held for court later that day.

PAROLE WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Jeanne Vivian Ingram, 57, of Cornwall turned herself into police on the strength of an outstanding Parole warrant on July 22nd, 2010.  She attended court on that date.

THEFT

Cornwall, Ont. – Gerry Cochrane, 51 and Jacques Therrien, also 51, both of Montreal were arrested on the 22nd of July, 2010 following a theft investigation on the 22nd of July, 2010.  It is alleged that they attended an east end gas bar and while one male was distracting the gas bar attendant, the other stole money from the cash register.  Area police were contacted and the males were arrested by the O.P.P. and R.C.M.P.  The males were handed over to the Cornwall Community Police Service and charged with one count each of Theft Under $5,000.00.  Therrien further faces one count of Breach of Probation for failing to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  They were held in custody until court on the 23rd of July, 2010 to answer to their respective charges.

THEFT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 15 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested following a shoplifting incident on the 22nd of July, 2010.  It is alleged that he attended a Ninth Street East grocery store and stole merchandise.  He was detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  He was charged with 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00 and released to the custody of a parent.  He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.  His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT and THREATS

Cornwall, Ont. – Sebastien Pelletier-Behrendt, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on the 22nd of July, 2010 following an assault investigation.  It is alleged that he approached another male and uttered a threat to cause bodily harm.  Police further allege that he assaulted the male causing a minor injury.  The male did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male facing 1 count of Assault and 1 count of Utter a Threat to Cause bodily harm.  The male was released to appear in court at a later date.

DRUGS

Cornwall, Ont. – Jason Fern Lanois, 30, of Cornwall was arrested during a routine traffic stop on the 22nd of July, 2010.  It is alleged that he was located in the possession of drugs, believed to be hydromorphone.  A further search uncovered cash and a cell phone.  As a result, he was arrested for 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1 count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and 1 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.  He was released to appear in court at a later date.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – Rene Joseph Delorme, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on the 22nd of July, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions to Not be away from his residence unless accompanied by his surety and to Not Associate with persons known to him to have a criminal record.  Police allege that during a routine traffic stop, he was located in a vehicle and was not accompanied by his surety.  Police further allege that one of the passengers had a criminal record.  As a result, he was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance and held in custody until court on the 23rd of July, 2010.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – Kathrina Saucier, 18, of No Fixed Address was arrested for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions to Reside at a specific address and to advise the Cornwall Police of any change of address, to Abstain from the possession or consumption of drugs and to Not associate with persons know to her to have a criminal record.  Police attended a Cornwall home and located the female who had taken residency there.  Police allege that she was under the influence of drugs and further in the company of a male who had a criminal record.  As a result, the female was arrested for 3 counts of Breach of Recognizance.  She was held for a bail hearing on the 23rd of July, 2010 to answer to the charges.
