Cornwall ON – Cornwall Ontario City Councilor André Rivette has announced he’s running again.
Today, I have submitted my papers to stand for re-election as Councillor for the City of Cornwall. If elected, I will continue to address community concerns and bring new ideas to the Council table such as:
1) encourage the new council to continue promoting partnerships between the city and companies looking to bring good paying jobs to Cornwall
2) propose the creation of a task force between the City and Hospital Board to address the Long Term Care Crisis in our community
3) oversee the completion of projects such as the 3+1 project, the new secondary treatment plant and other ongoing projects and to be sure they are completed within their approved budget and on time
4) I would also like to see the continuation of upgrades to park facilities such as a splash pad at Menard Park and make use of the Bob Turner facility as a new home for the football program.
We must continue to FOCUS ON THE FUTURE!!
Mr. Rivette was first elected to Cornwall City Council in 1998 where he served two terms until 2003. He was then re-elected in 2006. In his capacity as Councillor, he sat on many Boards, most notably the Eastern Ontario Health Unit, Raisin Region Conservation Authority, Waterfront Committee, Cornwall & Area Housing Authority.
His interests and hobbies include a love of music, volunteering in various sports organizations, and taking career oriented courses.
Mr. Rivette is married to Susan, and they have two children, Rodney and Tracey, and one granddaughter named Alex.
I don’t understand why he is running again. He was almost in tears when he didn’t get the raise
he so desperately seems to need. He isn’t getting my vote.
I would love to know why he and Mark did not persue the Robert Saunders tax issue
