Cornwall ON – In light of yesterday’s weirdness I thought what better way to celebrate than congratulate Paul Reubens, AKA Pee Wee Herman on his 58th birthday.
Reuben’s persona is the kind you either love, or want to beat up. Or love to beat up. The failed stand up comic turned to the character allegedly after not being able to deliver punch lines while working the LA comedy scene.
Hooking up with the late and very talented Canadian comic genuis that was Phil Hartman, Pee Wee’s character evolved during their tenure together in the Groundlings Comedy troupe where he also worked with Cassandra Petersen, better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
Hit movies and his children’s show, Pee Wee’s Playhouse, ended after an arrest for masturbating in a porn cinema.
Mr. Reubens continued to act in movies, getting good reviews. Recently he’s brought Pee Wee back, and a new Pee Wee pic is slated to be out in 2011.
