DRUGS

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit maintains its’ on-going investigations targeting street level drug trafficking.  As a result of an investigation:

Morris Joseph Seguin, 53, of Cornwall was arrested on the 22nd of September, 2010 for drug related offences.  It is alleged that he sold drugs, believed to be Morphine, to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit.  He was arrested for 2 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and 2 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.  The total value of the drugs and other offence related property is estimated at $200.00.  He was released to appear in court on the 21st of October, 2010 to answer to the charges.

THEFT and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Sean Francis Mahoney, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on the 27th of September, 2010 following a shoplifting incident.  He was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that he entered a Ninth Street East grocery store and stole merchandise.  He was detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  He has been charged with 1 count each of Theft Under $5,000.00 and Breach of Probation.  He was released to appear in court on the 23rd of November, 2010 to answer to the charges.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 20 year old Cornwall male was arrested on the 28th of September, 2010 following a domestic disturbance.  He was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that he had an argument with his 17 year-old girlfriend at which time he assaulted her.  Police further alleged that he pushed her and threatened to kill her.  The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  He faces 1 count of Assault with a Weapon, 1 count of Utter Threats and 1 count of Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

ASSAULT, BREAK AND ENTER and THREATS

Cornwall, Ont. – Larry Raymond Lefave, 50, of Cornwall was arrested following an Assault investigation.  It is alleged that he entered an apartment without invitation to enter and struck the resident.  It is further alleged that during the assault, he threatened to kill the resident.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The male faces 1 count of Assault, 1 count of Utter Threats and 1 count of Break and Enter.  He was released to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.

HARASSMENT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 34 year-old Cornwall female was arrested following a harassment complaint filed with police.  It is alleged that she had been warned by police on 2 previous occasions to not contact her ex-husband.  Police allege that on or about September 27th, 2010 her 38 year-old ex-husband received written correspondence from the female.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the female being arrested for 1 count of Harassment.  She was released to appear in court on the 26th of October, 2010.  Her name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – Mathiew Alain Labrecque, 19, of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of September 29th, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions to not be away from his residence unless in the presence of his surety and to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol completely.  The male was further bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  Police interacted with the male on Montreal Road on that date and observed that he had consumed alcohol.  A police check of the male further uncovered his conditions.  Police allege that he was not in the company of his surety at the time of the interaction.  As a result of the investigation, the male was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance and 1 count of Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court the following day.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred sometime between 03:30 and 09:00 pm on the 28th of September, 2010 at an Elgin Street apartment.  The suspect(s) stole a Hewlett Packard laptop and some cash.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.
