Cornwall ON – Brian Lynch , President of the SDSG Provincial NDP Riding Association, has announced that the local provincial NDP riding association will be holding a breakfast on Saturday November 20 at 8 a.m. at the Navy Veterans Association, 30 6th St., East, Cornwall.
Lynch stated: “We are very pleased that we will have two special guests at the breakfast, namely, Paul Miller, M.P.P. for Hamilton East-Stoney Creek and Michael Prue, M.P.P. for Beaches- East York.”
Lynch indicated that everyone is invited to attend the breakfast.
Lynch explained: “This will be an excellent opportunity for local residents to meet the two NDP MPPs and to learn more about Ontario NDP policies and initiatives to sustain and create good jobs in the new green economy, to improve pensions, to enhance public health care and education, to reduce poverty, and to remove the HST from home electricity bills.”
Tickets for the NDP breakfast cost $10 and are available by calling 613-933-8353.
Paul Miller – Hamilton East/Stoney Creek and Michael Prue – Beaches/East York are coming to talk to us at this breakfast. “This will be an excellent opportunity for local residents to meet the two NDP MPPs and to learn more about Ontario NDP policies and initiatives to sustain and create good jobs in the new green economy, to improve pensions, to enhance public health care and education, to reduce poverty, and to remove the HST from home electricity bills.” My question is “Whats wrong with our own local NDP MPP. Can that person not explain and give answers to the above questions?
Harry we have a Liberal MPP by the name of Mr. Jim Brownell locally.
The reason we bring in elected members to our events is because they are seeing, firsthand, what is happening at Queen`s park. They have experience on fighting for our rights in Toronto. We have very active local Party members, such as Darlene Jalbert (Our federal candidate) and many others, who are very experience and are very up to date with the issues. But we cannot walk into Queens Park and deliver the message, the worries, and the desire for change that our community has. That is the job of our local Member of Provincial Parliament, Liberal Mr. Jim Brownell. Being that Mr. Brownell does not seem to follow-through with his Job Description we count on NDP members that our elected elsewhere to deliver our message.
I know that, but don’t the NDP have a representative that would run against Jim Brownell if there were an election? Thats the person who should be answering questions on our minds at this NDP breakfast.
Cornwall Harry, Why don’t you attend the meeting to get a better understanding. If you need transportation to this event, I would be happy to give you a lift. At the very least, it will be thought provoking.
I met Michael Prue last summer when he spoke at an event in which I attended in Toronto on social reform and he impressed me alot with what he had to share. I would love to attend this event to hear him speak again, so Brian save me 2 tickets please and thanks.
