Big Dawg’s Bite – Kovalev Scores 2 against Habs in 3-2 Sens Win – Leafs Lose again – NHL SCORES – November 7, 2010

Cornwall ON – Sometimes “Big Dawg’s” come back to bite as did Alex Kovalev.   His two goals were the difference in Ottawa’s 3-2 victory over les boys in Montreal.   Brian Gionta seems to be breaking out of his funk, but Scott Gomez still is…..Scott Gomez.   Montreal’s overall play of late seems to stem from the return of Andrei Markov.

Perhaps the team’s extra effort making up for him not being in the lineup yielded better results?  Maybe the boys are letting up or expecting big things from their d man?  Either way the team needs to amp it up a notch or two.

The Legend of Jaroslav Halak gets bigger as he held off the red hot Boston Bruins and St. Louis won in the shoot out , 2-1; Toronto lost again, this time in the shoot out to the Buffalo Sabres; Philly edged the Islanders 2-1; Carolina nipped the Panthers 3-2;  It was Chicago 5-4 after their shoot out over Atlanta; Minnesota 3 – Columbus 2; Colorado blanked Dallas 5-0; Pittsburgh needed the shoot out to beat Phoenix 5-4;  LA 4-1 over Nashville;  Vancouver amped it up over the Red Wings in the 3rd period leading to their 6-4 victory; and San Jose beat the slumping Tampa Bay Lightning 5-2.
