Cornwall ON – Members of the public will once again join local veterans next Thursday, November 11th to honour the sacrifices of those who served to protect our rights and freedoms. The annual Remembrance Day Parade will take place on Thursday, November 11th, 2010 at 10:45 a.m.
The parade will exit the Royal Canadian Legion and proceed southbound on Cumberland Street to Second Street West. The parade will conclude at the Cenotaph. The parade is scheduled to end at 11:40 a.m.
Temporary “No Parking” signs will be placed in the affect areas. The Cornwall Community Police Service officers will use their discretion to tow vehicles in contravention of posted signs.
Officers will be on scene to ensure the safety of the veterans, participants and the general public. Detours may be necessary in order to reduce the interaction between vehicles and pedestrians, therefore reducing the risk of injury to all involved in this event.
