ASSAULT and DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, Ont. – David William Pyke, 43, of Cornwall was arrested following an investigation which commenced on November 20th, 2010.  It is alleged that on that date, while operating a motor vehicle, the male was stopped by an off-duty police officer for driving with undue care and attention.  The police officer alleges that he was pushed twice by the male who then left in his vehicle.  The police officer followed him and further alleged that the male continued to drive in an erratic manner.   The Cornwall Community Police Service was contacted and an investigation commenced.  The male turned himself into police on the 24th of November and is facing 1 count of Assault and 1 count of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.  He was released to appear in court at a later date.

DRIVE WHILE DISQUALIFIED

Cornwall, Ont. – Adam Christopher Thompson, 31, of Akwesasne was arrested on the 25th of November, 2010 while entering Canada through the Cornwall point of entry.  It is alleged that he was operating a motor vehicle while being disqualified from driving.  He was detained by a member of the Canada Border Services Agency until the arrival of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

ASSAULT AND MISCHIEF

Cornwall, Ont. – A 21 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 25th of November, 2010 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  It is alleged that during an argument with his 43 year-old girlfriend, he struck her with his head and broke some household items within the residence.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The male was arrested for 1 count of Assault and Mischief.  He was held in custody until court the following day.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 17 year-old Long Sault male was arrested on the 25th of November, 2010 following a sexual assault investigation.  It is alleged that for approximately 9 months, the youth had been making contact with a female by way of telephone and text messages.  It is further alleged that on November 18th, the youth approached the female and inappropriately touched her.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male facing 1 count of Sexual Assault and 1 count of Criminal Harassment.  The young person was released to the custody of a parent and is scheduled to appear in court on the 26th of November, 2010.  His name is not being released due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and to protect the identity of the victim.

ASSAULT and BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

Cornwall, Ont. – A 16 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 25th of November, 2010 following an assault investigation.  He was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Obey House Rules.  It is alleged that on 23rd of November, 2010 he assaulted another male at a Second Street East shopping mall.  The victim did not require medical attention for his injuries.  Police were contacted and the male was arrested for 1 count of Assault and 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking for failing to abide by his conditions.  He was released to the custody of a parent and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.  His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – Perry Patrick MacPhee, 40, of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of November 26th, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with condition to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol and to be in his place of residence betweens specific hours.  It is alleged that after curfew, he was located by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service under the influence of alcohol outside a local establishment.  He was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance and held in custody until court the following day.

BREAK AND ENTER and ARSON

As a result of the ongoing investigation into the fire which destroyed the Cotton Mill building on October 10h, 2010 the Cornwall Community Police Service has arrested four persons in relation to this incident.

An 18 year-old male, of Cornwall, was arrested on November 22nd for 1 count of Break and Enter and 1 count of Arson.  He is scheduled to appear in court on December 14th, 2010 to answer to the charges.  His name is not being released

Three young persons, aged 13, 15 and 16 face 1 count each of Break and Enter and Arson.  They have been released to appear in court at a later date.  Their names are withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT and FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 49 year-old Akwesasne male was arrested on the 23rd of November while entering Canada through the Cornwall point of entry.  It is alleged that on the previous day, he had an argument with his 27 year-old ex-girlfriend at which time he assaulted her by grabbing her and throwing her up against the wall.  It is further alleged that the accused refused to allow her to leave the residence.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The male was detained by a member of the Canada Border Services Agency and arrested for 1 count of Assault and 1 count of Forcible Confinement by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was held in custody until court that day.  The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  The male’s name is withheld as it may identify the victim in this incident.

DRUGS

Cornwall, Ont. – Christopher D. Helmer, 33, of Cornwall was arrested during a R.I.D.E. check in the early hours of November 23rd, 2010.  It is alleged that he was located in possession of drugs, believed to be marijuana.  He was arrested for 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance and released to appear in court on the 21st of December, 2010 to answer to the charge.

UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING, ASSAULT and BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

Cornwall, Ont. – Daniel Yves Lemay, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on the 23rd of November, 2010 following an assault investigation.  The male was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to Notify the Cornwall Community Police Service of any change of address and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on that date, he pushed his way into another male’s apartment and assaulted him.  The male did not suffer any injury from the assault.  Police were contacted and an investigation began.  The male faces 1 count of Assault, 1 count of Unlawfully in a dwelling and 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking for breaching his conditions.  He was held in custody until court the following day.

FAIL TO ATTEND COURT

Cornwall, Ont. – Jason Michel Major, 29, of Lunenburg was arrested on November 23rd, 2010.  On that date, he was arrested by a member of the O.P.P. on the strength of an outstanding warrant and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He faces 1 count of Fail to Attend court.  He was held in custody until court later that day.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 26 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 23rd of November, 2010 following domestic disturbance investigations.  It is alleged that sometime in October and on November 22nd, the male had arguments with his 24-year old ex-girlfriend which resulted in the female being assaulted on both occasions.  The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incidents. Police were contacted and the male was arrested for 2 counts of Assault.  He was held in custody until court the following day.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE and CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 24 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 23rd of November, 2010 for failing to abide by his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions to reside at a specific address, to not associate directly or indirectly with a specific female and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that between the 1st and the 23rd of November, he and a family member made contact by telephone to the restricted female.  On November 12th, it is further alleged that he attended the female’s place of employment.  Police were contacted and the male was arrested for 1 count of Criminal Harassment and 4 counts of Breach of Recognizance for failure to abide by the listed conditions.  He was held in custody until court the following day to answer to the charges.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT and MISCHIEF

Cornwall, Ont. – A 45 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 24th of November, 2010 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  It is alleged that on the offence date, she had an argument with her 51 year-old husband at which time she threw household items at him.  The male did not require any medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and the female faces 1 count each of Domestic Assault and Domestic Mischief.  She was released to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.  Her name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

BREACHES and ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – Rene Joseph Delorme, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on the 24th of November, 2010 for breaching his conditions. He was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to Not be away from his residence unless accompanied by his surety, to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol and to not associate with anyone who has a criminal record.  It is alleged that on the offence date, the male, unaccompanied by his surety, had consumed alcohol and engaged in a fight with another male.  The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.   Police were contacted and an investigation into the matter resulted in the male facing 1 count of Assault and 3 counts of Breach of Recognizance.  The male was held in custody until court the following day.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred sometime between 02:50 p.m. and 03:30 p.m. on the 24th of November, 2010 at a Louisa Street residence.  The suspect(s) gained entry through a kitchen window.  The suspect(s) stole a PlayStation 3 camera, a Motion Move controller for the PlayStation 3, an electric power cord and a “Champion Sports” game.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.
