SD&SG ON- The results are in…the SD&G OPP Auxiliary Unit “Stuff a Cruiser” Food Drive event on November 27, 2010 was a resounding success. Officers set up in several locations throughout SD&G collecting food items for a very worthy cause. The following is a breakdown of food items and monetary donations collected in each County and the Charity Organization partnered with;
Stormont: Cornwall/Ingleside – Agape Centre. Food items collected – Approx 6,400lbs
Monetary Donations – $1000.00
Dundas: Winchester/Morrisburg – Dundas Food Bank. Food items collected – Approx 3,400lbs
Monetary Donations – $1700.00
Glengarry: Alexandria – St-Vincent de Paul Society. Food items collected – Approx 3250lbs
Monetary Donations – $847.00
Totals: Food items collected – Approx 13,000lbs
Monetary Donations – $3547.00
“This is another example of the generosity that exists in the many communities we serve in SD&G” stated SD&G OPP Auxiliary Unit Commander, S/Sgt Al Jodoin. SD&G OPP Detachment Commander, Inspector Mike McDonell adds “I am extremely proud of the efforts put forth by the members of our Auxiliary. They are a valuable asset to our detachment and the OPP. Saturday’s results will make the Holiday Season brighter for several families.”
