The magazine recently held 2010 BUSRide MotorVision Competition to discover the best looking motorcoach in North America. Readers were able to vote for their favourite bus online and the Choose Cornwall Bus took top place honours with over 3,000 votes cast. Eastern Ontario did very well in the competition, as the Kingston Bus operated by McCoy Bus Service placed third, while second place was awarded to Anderson Coach & Travel of Greenville, PA.
“Voting intensified as the contest drew to a close – it was a very tight race,” said Mark Begg, Manager of Delaney Bus Lines. “This award is very special to us as the bus was the vision of our founder, the late Mike Delaney.”
The Choose Cornwall bus is a modern motorcoach which has been completely wrapped in colourful graphics that include the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, and Lift-Off, Cornwall’s hot-air balloon festival. The bus also prominently displays the City of Cornwall’s logo and urges people to check out the City. The graphics on the bus, part of which also glows in the dark, were designed by Matt Delaney, son of the late Mike Delaney.
“The commuter bus is an important service for Cornwall and area residents and the entire Delaney team should be congratulated for their creativity and business acumen”, said Bob Kilger, Mayor of Cornwall.
