DRUGS
Cornwall, Ont. – Between December 9th, 2010 and January 25th, 2011, the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit, assisted by the O.P.P. Drug Enforcement Team, conducted an investigation in relation to street level drug trafficking in the eastern section of the City. As a result of this investigation, a quantity of drugs, believed to be cocaine and “Crack” cocaine were seized. The total value of the drugs and other offence related property is estimated at over $1,300.00.
As a result of the investigation:
Kirk Christopher Marcel Beckstead, 18, of Cornwall was arrested and charged on January 24th, 2011 with 2 counts of Trafficking, 2 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and 2 counts of Breach of Probation for Failing to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. He is scheduled to appear in court on the 15th of February, 2011 to answer to the charges.
Tyler Quesnel, 18, of Cornwall turned himself into police on January 24th, 2011. He was arrested and charged with 1 count of Trafficking and 1 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He is scheduled to appear in court on the 15th of February, 2011 to answer to the charges.
A 16 year-old Cornwall youth turned himself into police on January 24th, 2011. The young person was arrested and charged with 1 count of Trafficking and 1 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He was released to the custody of a parent and is scheduled to appear in court on a later date to answer to the charges. His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Justin Brian Locey, 25, of Cornwall was arrested and charged on January 20th, 2011 with 2 counts of Trafficking, 2 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and 2 counts of Breach of Probation for Failing to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.
Trevor Raoul Mederic Fournier, 24, of Cornwall was arrested and charged on January 20th, 2011 with 2 counts of Trafficking and 2 counts of Property Obtained by Crime. He is scheduled to appear in court at later date to answer to the charges.
FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, ASSAULT and BREACHES
Cornwall, Ont. – A 22 year-old Montreal male was arrested on the 24th of January, 2011 following a domestic disturbance investigation. The male was bound by a Probation Order and a Recognizance with the same condition: to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. He was further bound by a second Recognizance Order with a condition to stay within the city limits of Montreal. It is alleged that on the 23rd of January, 2011 the male came to Cornwall to visit his 16 year-old girlfriend. The male took her to a Montreal Road hotel room and during an argument assaulted her by punching her in the face and neck area and by pulling her hair. Police further allege that the male attempted to choke her then prevented her from leaving the hotel room. Police also allege that the male threatened to kill her. The female was able to free herself and police were contacted. The female did not require medical attention at the time of the incident. The male is facing 1 count each of Forcible Confinement, Assault and Threats to Life and Breach of Probation and 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance. The male was held in custody until court. His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.
WARRANT
Cornwall, Ont. – A 33 year-old Cornwall male turned himself into police on the 24th of January, 2011 on the strength of a warrant. The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that during several arguments in 2010, the male assaulted his 25 year-old girlfriend on 3 separate occasions and confined her to the residence. Police further allege that during these arguments, the male threatened to kill her and cause damage to a family member’s property. Police were unsuccessful in locating the male and a warrant for his arrest was requested. The male is facing 3 counts of Assault, 2 counts of Utter Threats to Life, 1 count each of Utter Threats to cause damage to Property, Mischief Under $5,000.00, Forcible Confinement, Intimidation and Breach of Probation. The male was held in custody until court the following day. His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.
THEFT UNDER $5,000.00 and BREACH
Cornwall, Ont. – Ronald Rheal Villeneuve, 49, of Cornwall was arrested on the 24th of January, 2011 following a shoplifting incident. He was bound by an Undertaking Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that he entered a Ninth Street East grocery store and stole merchandise. He was detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was arrested and charged with 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00 and 1 count of Breach of Undertaking. He was released to appear in court on the 08th of April, 2011.
POSSESSION OF FALSIFIED CREDIT CARD and POSSESS COUNTERFEIT MARK
Cornwall, Ont. – Jason Honore VanMeenen, 37, of No Fixed Address was arrested on the 24th of January, 2011 following a fraud investigation. It is alleged that on February 17th, 2010 he attended a Brookdale Avenue store and left his wallet behind which contained false documents. Police were contacted and an investigation commenced. Police allege that he was located in the possession of a falsified credit card and a falsified drivers’ licence. As a result of the investigation, the male is facing 1 count each of Possess Falsified Credit Card and Possess Counterfeit Mark (for being in possession of a counterfeit and unauthorized image of the Ontario logo). The male was released to appear in court on the 14th of April, 2011.
PUBLIC MISCHIEF and BREACH OF PROBATION
Cornwall, Ont. – Gregory Simpson, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on the 24th of January, 2011 following an investigation. The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that he falsely reported to police that he was a victim to a robbery. As a result of further investigation, the male is facing 1 count each of Breach of Probation and Public Mischief. The male was released to appear in court on the 15th of February, 2011 to answer to the charges.
DRUGS and BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE
Cornwall, Ont. – A 15 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 25th of January, 2011 for breaching his conditions. He was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions to Abstain from the possession or consumption of drugs or to associate directly or indirectly with specific persons listed. It is alleged that on the offence date, the male was located outside a Cornwall school in the company of one of the restricted males listed in the Recognizance Order. The youth was detained by school officials until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. A search of the male further uncovered drugs, believed to be marijuana. As a result, the male was arrested for 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance and 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance. The male was held in custody until court. His name is not being released due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
DRIVE WHILE DISQUALIFIED
Cornwall, Ont. – Robert Binette, 24, of Dundee Quebec was arrested on January 25th, 2011 during a routine traffic stop. It is alleged that he had been convicted of Impaired Driving and as a result was disqualified from driving. The male was arrested for 1 count of Drive while Disqualified. He was released to appear in court on the 08th of February, 2011 to answer to the charge.
ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON and MISCHIEF
Cornwall, Ont. – An 18 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 24th of January, 2011following a domestic disturbance investigation. It is alleged that during an argument with her 19 year-old boyfriend she caused damage to a countertop and pulled out a telephone wall jack. Police further allege that she assaulted him by slapping him across the face. Police also allege that she threw a household item at him causing injury. The male did not receive medical attention at the time of the incident. The female is facing 1 count of Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Mischief Under $5,000.00. The female was held in custody until court the following day. Her name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.
