CRIMINAL HARASSMENT and BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – A 43 year-old Cornwall female turned herself into police on the 26th of January, 2011.  She was bound by an Undertaking Order and a Probation Order with the same condition:  to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that even after being warned not to contact her ex-boyfriend, she continued to make repeated phone calls to him.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the female facing 1 count of Criminal Harassment, 1 count of Breach of Undertaking and 1 count of Breach of Probation.  She was held in custody until court.  Her name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

Cornwall, Ont. – A 16 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 26th of January, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  The youth was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour, to Obey House Rules as set out by his parents and to Attend school without truancy.  It is alleged that the youth failed to attend school as per his condition.  As a result, police were contacted and the youth is facing 3 counts of Breach of Undertaking.  He was held in custody until court.  His name is not being released due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT and THREATS

Cornwall, Ont. – A 43 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 26th of January, 2011 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  It is alleged that during an argument with his 32 year-old ex-girlfriend, he grabbed her bicep.  She did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  It is further alleged that he threatened to kill her.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male facing 1 count of Assault and 1 count of Uttering a Death Threat.  He was held in custody until court.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON and UTTER THREATS

Cornwall, Ont. – A 15 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 26th of January, 2011.  It is alleged that he approached another male while carrying a pipe wrench and threatened to injure him.  It is then further alleged that he threatened to get a restricted weapon and shoot him.   Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The youth was arrested and charged with 1 count of Assault with a Weapon and 1 count of Uttering Threats.  He was released to the custody of a parent and is scheduled to appear in court on the 24th of February, 2011 to answer to the charges.  His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and to protect the identity of the victim.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter at McConnell Avenue apartment on January 26th, 2011 between the hours of 5 p.m. and 10:48 p.m.  The suspect(s) stole a 32” LCD HD Emerson television, an X-Box and an X-Box console.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

BREACHED CONDITIONS

(North Glengarry) – On 26Jan11, at approximately 5:30pm, SD&G OPP officers observed a male breaching his earlier release conditions on Main St. Alexandria On.

The 45yr old male was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance
  • Possession

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
