Habs lose 8-6 to Bruins – Carey Price and Ben Pouliot Fight in same game! NHL Scores – Frolik a Hawk – February 10 ,2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – Now that was a hockey game.   Lots of goals and a goalie fight; well sort of…The Bruins ate their Wheaties and put forth a manly effort in their 8-6 victory over les boys in Boston.

It was like a Federal Hockey League game ( btw, the Akwesasne Warriors regained first place with their 4-3 win over 1000 Islands with one game to go in their first season!)

Frankly it was a great game for the fans; not so much for the two league leading goalies who between them gave up 14 goals and had a dance together which wasn’t a lot of fun to watch, but Carey Price gave Thomas a shot and put him down which cooled the Bruins netminder down.

The bad news for Habs fans is that Scott Gomez, Andrei Kostitsyn, and Lars Eller really were floating out this exciting play off brand of hockey as a line with not  too many shifts steered their way after going -4 each.

The Game finished with more fights with Benoit Pouliot of all Habs dropping the gloves as did Roman Hamrlik, and Travis Moen, twice.

I mean any game in which Roman Hamrlik and Jaroslav Spacek get 15 minutes of penalties each is going to be fun. Yanick Weber led the way with 3 points for the Habs,   Nathan Horton broke out of his slump with 5 points for Boston.   Next game up is against the Islanders on the Island for Montreal.

It was funny how Mitch Melnick was yakking about not wanting to see a Bruins Habs play off match.   This kind of hockey I can watch any day!

In other NHL SCORES; SJ nipped Columbus 3-2;  Nashville surprised Detroit 4-1; Minnesota nipped Colorado 3-2; Phoenix 3-2 over Dallas; Calgary torched Ottawa 5-2; Chicago beat the Oilers 4-1; and Jason Blake scored as Anaheim edged Vancouver 4-3.

Another trade to report.   Florida sent Michael Frolik and bits to Chicago for Jack Skile and bobs.    Nothing exciting, but good to see teams making their moves.   The trade reunites Skile with his first NHL GM Dale Tallon.
