Cornwall ON – Lafreniere Park in Metarie Lousiana is normally a tranquil and beatific scene; usually filled with parents and their …..children which is presents a case of bitterly ironic hypocrisy as one Reverend Grant Storms was picked up and charged with Obsenities.
Mr. Storms is best known for picketing “Southern Decadence” a three day Gay Festival in New Orleans French Quarter every Labour Day.
So if I’m understanding Mr. Storms, being gay is wrong, immoral and all those other bad things, but sitting in your 2000 Ford Windstar gazing at ……probably while listening to Rush Limbaugh is a progressive and proper conduct?
The Reverend denied the charges at first alleging that he was urinating into a bottle before after acknowledging what witnesses stated.
Mr. Storms was released on $5,000 bail.
The first woman told deputies she was taking her children to the playground and parked next to the van at about noon. As she was walking around her own vehicle, she noticed the van windows were down and the occupant was “looking at the playground area that contained children playing, with his zipper down…,”

I am glad this man got catch. If found guilty by the court, he should serve time , and be removed from being pastor and disciplined out the church. He should be barred from all positions of authority and trust in and out of the church for life. I am definitely glad to say that all Christian pastors are not like this man. Just as I would say, as we have read in the past, so many public school teachers being exposed and removed from their place of authority and trust for similar offenses (i.e. having sexual relationship with minors; or having pornographic material on their p.c.’s). So I would not say that all public school teachers should be considered guilty of the same crimes, just because they are school teachers. It is never guilty by association, every man and woman must stand for themselves.
As to this man’s hypocrisy, Again I am glad that God has expose this man and his sin. Sin is sin no matter the sinner, but the Bible calls for integrity, not just for pastors, but for all of us, as creatures made in His image. Those that are called to serve in this office should be held to a higher standard for sure, even as the Word of God declares. There is forgiveness for this man, as while as for any other sinner that turns away from God’s standard. Christians are not perfect, but they are called to be perfect. May the good Lord give this man grace to repent, and to confess his sins before all, that he might be restored to his family, friends, and community.
The authority to call homosexuality (sodomy) and other sexual sins mentioned in the Bible sin comes not from the church, nor from the minister, but from the Word of God. God calls it sin, and calls all to repent whether behind the pulpit or in the pew.
“It is actually reported that sexual immorality exists among you, and of a kind that is not found even among the gentiles. A man is actually living with his father’s wife! And you are being arrogant instead of being filled with grief and seeing to it that the man who did this is removed from among you. Even though I am away from you physically, I am with you in spirit. I have already passed judgment on the man who did this, as though I were present with you. When you are gathered together in the name of our Lord Jesus and my spirit and the power of our Lord Jesus are present, hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the Day of the Lord”(1Co 5:1 -5).
The action that the church should take:
“But now I am writing to you to stop associating with any so-called brother if he is sexually immoral, greedy, an idolater, a slanderer, a drunk, or a robber. With such a person you must even stop eating.
After all, is it my business to judge outsiders? You are to judge those who are inside, aren’t you?
God will judge outsiders. “Put that wicked man away from you”(1Co 5:11 -13).
All I can say is…DOUCHEBAG! 🙁
Update: Grant Storms has not been a pastor of a church for sometime now. He either resigned or was removed from his charge years ago. He is presently seeking pastoral help to overcome the enslavement that he has to pornographic material. Of course there is two sides of the story, so Grant will have his day in court to prove or disprove his story. It is still true in American and Canada – innocent until proven guilty.
It is also true that pornographic enslavement is at an epidemic proportion in our Western Society. Decadence in any form is first condemned in the Bible as sin. Living for the pleasure of such sin brings temporal consequence and also eternal consequences. But thankfully, secondly, there is real deliverance as one repents of such enslaving habits and life styles. God’s saving power can deliver the worst of sinners.
Pornography and other sexual perversions are a direct assault upon Biblical marriage and the God ordained family. Satan knows this, and that is why he is working overtime to promote all forms of decadence in our society. Biblical marriage fidelity and abstinence before marriage are the only proper actions that will glorify God and bring true blessings and happiness. But just knowing that such sexual perversions are wrong and destructive will not deliver one from the the burning lust of sexual uncleanness. God has provided the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, not only to save us from our sins, but to keep us from the ensnaring traps of lust. It is still true – play with fire, and most likely you are going to get burned! Sooner or later! This is the case with all forms of decadence. Some people, like Grant Storm, hopefully will learn not to play with lust the hard way!
