Artwork“celebrating the majesty of the earth, the challenges she faces, and how we can be better friends to our living earth.” “Our living earth…” To give to God creation human qualities and attributes is nothing but pagan idolatry. Such idolatry the True and Living God abhors – Exo 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”. Not only is The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ worthy of all worship and adoration, He will not allow His creatures to worship His creation without suffering judgement. See verses below:
Rom 1:19 -24″For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God himself has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes-his eternal power and divine nature-have been understood and observed by what he made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him. Instead, their thoughts turned to worthless things, and their ignorant hearts were darkened. Though claiming to be wise, they became fools. and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images that looked like mortal human beings, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles [ and trees]. For this reason, God gave them over to impurity to follow the lusts of their hearts and to dishonor their bodies with one another”.
One can not promote idolatry and not suffer dearly for it – now and for eternity. ” For this reason, God gave them over to impurity to follow the lusts of their hearts and to dishonor their bodies with one another”.
Mmmm, pagan idolatry… Delicious!
One can not promote misinterpretation and twisted semantics and expect to get sense. Sounds like you’ve got lots of time on your hands, Preacher. Study some Hebrew and Greek, take a course in theology. Don’t claim to be wise and rest your laurels on English. There was no English dictionary when the scrolls were written. Smarten up.

Well said, JC and His Dad. Well said.
Thanks for the link -“The originals have all been lost or destroyed. But we are not at all doubtful that we may not have the original text. Copying by scribes was done with great care in those days and because the text was regarded as sacred, the copyists were extremely painstaking. Today some 5000 hand-copied documents exist of all or part of the Bible, and they agree in 98% of the text! No other ancient writing has this amount of underlying support with such amazing agreement as to the text.
Yes, we do have what God wanted us to have! By way of translation, we now have His revelation in our own language and in 2300 other languages, too. Today we have the very Bible that comes to us from the three languages used in the original. Truly we can say, “God speaks my language, too!”
Since God has spoken, and He has preserved His written Word, is it not important that we humble ourselves to obey it. His promises are sure in that He will bless us and that all for His Son’s sake, but also His promises of coming wrath and judgment are equally sure for those who thumbs up their noses at God message. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God”.
I really like that painting in this article. It’s beautiful! I for one will check out this exhibit. Hopefully God won’t be too pissed.
@Cousin Teena…the multi-media work in the article was crafted by Kimberly Cameron. She will have her work displayed in the Seaway News display windows during the month of May.
@tnpreacher555: Yeah, let’s burn her.
You have all wrong Lad – we don’t burn witches or anyone anymore! We are not under the civil code of the nation of Israel of days gone by. In this day of Grace the Lord Jesus says Mat 5:44 “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you”.
That does not mean that what they are doing is not sin in God’s eyes, and certainly they shall come into judgment for it, if they continue to worship idols. We are to warn sinners to flee from the wrath of God that now is and that is to come. Just because fire does not fall upon such idol worship right now doesn’t mean God approves of it, nor that He will over look such sin. Judgement Day is coming – all will give account, and everyone out side the saving work of Christ shall be punished accordingly. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God – ‘For our God is a consuming fire”.
The only safe haven is in the ark of God’s salvation – the Lord Jesus Christ. God says -“When I see the blood, I will pass over you”. It is true that Christ came into the world to save sinners, and doing so He changes our lives into a life of holiness, purity, and loving obedience to the Word of God thereby forsaking all idols.
Tom I’m a thinking they didn’t “burn witches” in biblical Israel. Not sure which books you’re reading….
Clarification – After the elders of Israel gave judgment against the offender for a capital offence, they, the people would stone them to death, and then afterwards burned their bodies with fire. Lev 20; Josh. 7:15,25. Exo 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
Before the Great White throne judgment thus shall be the judgment – “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”. Rev 20:11 -15. Burned with eternal fire, but will never be allowed to die!
Mat 25:41 Then shall he [The Lord Jesus Christ] say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
