Cornwall ON – San Jose threw everything they had at the Detroit Red Wings before defeating them in Over time 2-1 in game one of their second round series.
They out shot the Wings 46-25 and had the edge in power play time as well, but Detroit’s gritty defensive effort and goalie Jimmy Howard kept the game close.
Tampa Bay pulled off a road win in their game with the Washington Capitals beating them 4-2 as aged net minder Dwayne Roloson becomes the story of the play offs!
Boston is at Philadelphia with Nashville visiting Vancouver Saturday.
