Bruins Sweep Flyers in 5-1 Win to move to Round 3 of the NHL Play Offs – Detroit holds off SJ – May 7, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – Zdeno Chara gets to go to the third round of the Stanley Cup this year as the Boston Bruins completed their sweep of a discombobulated Philadelphia Flyers team playing without Chris Pronger.

There would be no hiccups or collapse like the Bruins experienced last year.   The Bruins simply are a very strong tough team with skill.   The took the series to the Flyers and hit them as hard as Philly usually hits other teams.

I love Mark Recchi at 43 grabbing 18 minutes of ice time as he helped defeat his former team.  Make no mistake; the Bruins have character and grit.

The question is if they can overcome Dwayne Roloson and Tampa Bay in the next round?

Detroit fought back and extended their series fighting off a sweep by the San Jose Sharks with their 4-3 victory.

So hockey fans?  How far will the Bruins go this season?  You can post your comments below.
