Cornwall ON – It was a lovely evening at NAV Canada as Corus Cornwall the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce held a mixer.
These events are much more fun than the Breakfast Connections program. Maybe people are in better spirits after a day of work or maybe it’s the spirits imbibed during the event that put smiles on many more people’s faces?
While the mood was super there were some poignant moments as many toasted the late Joe Gunn, treasurer of the Chamber who many of those in attendance were at his funeral on Monday.
The Chamber was well represented with President Rick Shaver present and in good cheer as well as past president Jeff Bethune whose picture I promised not to post!
I hope Corus was paying overtime as almost their entire team were present. The city was well represented too with Councilor Denis Carr present as well as Bernadette Clement who was celebrating her birthday! Economic Development honcho Mark Boileau was present as well as Bob Peters and his wife Tracey.
Liberals Mark A Macdonald and Pat Finucan took a few moments from their seeking of the riding Nomination to chat and visit as well.
I finally got to meet Janice Eastman of Nav Canada and some of the staff and management of this phenomenal facility. It was nice chatting and catching up with Terry Sylvester of Dundee Wealth Management who shared about their new facility on Pitt Street that he’s hoping will be open soon.
Delightful chatting with Brigitte Duval from Job Zone as well.
The rain held off and there was a great vibe in the room. The next chamber mixer is slated for June 21 at Schnitzels.
