Cornwall ON- Championships are made of the stuff of dreams and who as a young person; especially here in Canada doesn’t dream of scoring that big goal or making that big save?
Last night Roberto Luongo showed that he truly can win the big game as his and Kevin Bieska’s heroics helped the Vancouver Canucks to a 3-2 double over time victory over the San Jose Sharks in game 5 of their Western Conference final.
The Sharks came to play putting over 50 shots on net, including 16 in the 1st over time, but Bieska scored the winner. Vancouver took 4 penalties in the game to San Jose’s 1 which shows the intensity of the attack by the Sharks who hoped to survive.
Messers Heatley, Thornton, and Marleau had 18 shots on goal between them, but were held to only one point, a Marleau goal which sums up the evening for the frustrated Sharks. Their star players simply did not cash it in during the series while Vancouver’s did.
Boston leads Tampa Bay 3 games to 2 in their Eastern Conference final series. Vancouver vs Boston?
