Cornwall ON – Brian Lynch, President of the Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry Provincial NDP riding association, has announced that the local Provincial NDP riding association will be holding its nomination meeting on Wednesday June 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Navy Veterans Association, 30 Sixth St., E., Cornwall.
Lynch said that the meeting will select the NDP candidate for the October 6 provincial election.
Lynch stated:
“ The top priority of the Ontario NDP under the leadership of Andrea Horwath is to continue to put Ontario’s families and seniors first and to make life fairer and more affordable for everyday people.”
Lynch said that the NDP is well positioned to make major gains in the October 6 provincial election because of its progressive policies to help create good jobs, to remove the HST from hydro and home heating bills, to improve public healthcare, to create a provincial pension plan for workers without coverage, and to expand access to post secondary education and training.
Lynch further explained that the Ontario NDP opposes further corporate tax cuts favoured by the Liberals and the Conservatives. “ Instead of giving billions of dollars in tax giveaways to big, profitable corporations who won’t commit to create new jobs, the Ontario NDP will provide tax credits to businesses that create new jobs or invest in new equipment, retraining, and innovation,” Lynch stated.
Everyone is welcome to attend the nomination meeting which will launch the NDP campaign in SDSG. Persons interested in joining the SDSG Provincial NDP riding association should call 613-933-8353.
