Cornwall ON – Jim Althouse has been appointed the City of Cornwall’s new Parks and Landscaping Supervisor.
“We are delighted to welcome Jim to this position,” said Christine Lefebvre, Division Manager, Parks and Recreation.
“Jim has worked in the Parks and Recreation Division for nearly 30 years, and he has played a key role in maintaining and beautifying the City’s many parks, playing fields and public spaces.”
Mr. Althouse has been working in the City’s Parks Division as a Parks Horticulturist for the past 23 years, and he held other positions with the City prior to that. Mr. Althouse has been serving as the Acting Parks and Landscaping Supervisor since February following the passing of Mr. Laurie Weatherall.
A long-time resident of Cornwall, Mr. Althouse holds an Agricultural Technology Diploma from Kemptville College, a Qualified Plantsman Certificate from the University of Guelph, Arborist and Horticulturist Certificates from the Province of Ontario and many other professional licences in the field.
