Star Tek Drops 300 Jobs in Kingston and Shutters One Outlet – Cornwall Ontario former employees organize gathering – June 12, 2011

Cornwall ON – Star Tek is letting  310 employees go and shutting down one of its sites in Kingston.  The company announced 100 new positions at its remaining Kingston location.    The company also has not made further notices in Cornwall where nearly 400 employees were given notices a while back.

Here in Cornwall a group of former employees are having a party to support each other; Saturday June 25 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.    We’ve received reports from current employees that pressures are heavy on staff due to worker shortages and pressures under the current bleak circumstances.

The firm still has want ads out for Bilingual service positions so there still is some hope for area workers.    If you are a current or former Star Tek employee and wish to share on your experience email us at info@cornwallfreenews.com
