Fire Destroys General Store in Lunenberg Ontario – No injuries reported – October 3, 2011

CFN – Fire struck in Lunenberg Ontario at approx 20:00.

South Stormont fire department members responded to the report of a structure fire in the town of Lunenburg. On arrival the building which has been a beloved general store for years was totally engulfed and eventually destroyed by fire.

3 full stations were dispatched calling in approx 40 volunteer firefighters to battle the blaze. Paramedics were called to the scene as a precaution however there were no reported injuries.  Neighboring structures were saved due to the swift actions of firefighters.
