CFN –I hope everyone enjoyed last week’s column.  This week has some good sales, but first, I want to talk about what I believe is the best way to organize your coupons.Some feel an envelope is the best way; some have them in mini folders. I use a binder. I like to be able to see all my coupons quickly, especially if I see a clearance item, and I need to see if I have a coupon for it while I’m in the store.

The best method to organize them in your binder is to go to the dollar store and buy a pack of refills for collector’s albums (they’re in the school supply aisle.) I put the ones that are going to expire first at the front, so I am more cautious to try and use those first.

Yes, you might feel a little weird walking around the grocery store with a binder in your cart, but you’ll feel a lot better when you walk out with maximum savings!

Something I also learned this week is the Scanner Price Accuracy Voluntary Code. This is an absolute must read! How many times have you gotten to the cash register and a sale item does not scan properly? You could be receiving the item for free if it falls under the SPACV. http://www.competitionbureau.gc.ca/eic/site/cb-bc.nsf/eng/01262.html. Who knew?
